UPDATE: Sponsorship Support...THANK YOU!!!Your financial support has been just SMASHING!! Your sponsorship gifts totalled $2990 of the $2950 goal! Thank you all so much...what more can I say? UPDATE: More details about what's going on...The 1998 Side By Side Global Work Crew for India will be working in the south central city of Hyderabad. The crew will be hosted by the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church (AELC), which is 153 years old, founded by German missionaries in 1842. We will be working side by side with Indian youth and young adults to repair and construct roofs for the homes in the "slums", as they are referred to in India. The people who are living in the slums are of the poorest in India. They erect shelters from whatever materials they can find, only to have their homes often washed away during the monsoon season. We will be helping these people to have a more durable shelter from the hot summer sun and the torrential rains. UPDATE: A change of venue...Many of you may have been thinking that I was going to travel to Latvia this summer, and up until 14 March, this was indeed the case. However, due to last minute logistics, I've transferred to another Side by Side crew, and this one is going to India. The only change is in the destination, and all other programme aspects remain the same. The change does not affect the role of your prayer or financial support, but if you have any questions, they may be directed either to me via email or to Youth Encounter at the contact information below.
