Youth Encounter is an evangelical and confessional Christian organisation which began in 1965 by sending a music ministry team to Scandinavia. Rooted in the Christian Scriptures and shaped by the Lutheran tradition, Youth Encounter has now grown into a global ministry serving churches of many denominations in the United States and over 40 other countries. Recognising the ever-growing need for positive role models and Christ-centred experiences, Youth Encounter continually strives to find creative ways to present the message of Jesus Christ to young people. You can be a vital part of this important ministry! The mission of SIDE BY SIDE is to build genuine relationships founded in God's love forged in the experience of cross-cultural living, working, and worshipping. SIDE BY SIDE Global Work Crews are groups of youth and young adults that travel to another country to work with hosting youth and adults on a project of need. During this four-week summer programme, members develop cross-cultural awareness and build relationships founded in the love of Christ, strengthen their ability to work together, and grow in self-esteem and Christian faith. The programme ends with Impact, a celebration of Youth Encounter programmes, where Global Work Crews share with peers about their experiences from around the world. Sponsorship gifts are very important and enable a young person to share in a life-changing service and faith-building opportunity through SIDE BY SIDE. Gifts directly support your designated crew member's participation in SIDE BY SIDE. The ministries of Youth Encounter are supported by fees for services along with offerings and gifts from congregations and friends. Youth Encounter is a registered non-profit organisation, and all gifts are tax deductible in the United States. An annual financial audit is conducted by Brown & Company.
